FRINTGRANINGHAMONDAM (pron. 'Sibley'), Norfolk THE MAIDS HEAD
A clean establishment run by an amiable landlord and his wife - the Squits. At 5/- lunch (August 1952), I can recommend Mrs Squits' beautiful chops. Simple fare here: mutton, steak and kidney pie, calves liver and bacon, and, in the midst of it all, an harrassed waiter. Note too, a glove rack regaled with string-backed driving gloves, located by the bar. Splendid! Beer good.
